Like The Queen
Whatever happens to strike my fancy, but surely some sort of fiber content.

Oh my dear! You are having a horrid time this week. It sounds like your present state may have something to do with that medical thing going on with you. Try not to be so hard on yourself. You are an amazing lady. And I was depressed about the eminent domain thing too - scary!

In my limited experience, I find that when my creativity flags, when my interest in things that interest me wanes, when even mystery novels become depressing because there are people Doing Mean Things in them, it means that I've been nearly sucked dry by the demands other people make on me.

It is NOT selfishness to say "no" once in a while. It is NOT selfishness to draw back sometimes, to beg off things, to observe that it's been a difficult spring (and it has been a difficult spring for you, Bess).

If you can, say "no" to some things. Draw back a little. You've had a difficult spring, with lots of unpleasant things happening, and you're just rebounding from it now.

Ahh - after a good sob on BD's shoulder I was a little better, only to come home and find him so depressed about the supreme court's eminent domain decision (we were threatened once, by the city of Norfolk, for goodness sake!, 100 miles away!) - he's burnt up all the copies of the constitution we had in the house. It has to be the stars. Or a Bermuda High or something!

but we shall persevere and prevail - somehow.

Thanks y'all for your sweet wishes.

Off to provide a shoulder to a frustrated BD.
